Weekly Planner 12th March

After half term we will be having our 'Pirate Week'. We will be joining with pre-school and nursery for lots of fun activities. All the children will take part in a sponsored treasure hunt. A letter and sponsor form has been sent out already. There will also be a variety of activities such as designing our own treasure maps, making junk model telescopes and creating parrots, to name but a few! We hope the children will really enjoy the week! After pirate week we will move on to our topic of, 'people who help us'. We have invited a nurse and police officer into school to talk about their jobs. We also hope to visit the firestation.

                                                                                  Reading in Reception

We hope that those who attended our reading meeting, on how to support your child at home, found it really useful. If you were unable to attend, please find a copy of the powerpoint used, below. Every child in Reception will need their own reading bag with their name on. All the children should now have a reading diary and reading book to take home with them so that they can share a book with their grown ups at home. Please could you record in their reading diaries how they are getting on at home. The children will also take part in a guided reading session in school every week. Their teachers will record in their diaries their progress. Please could you ensure their reading bag is brought to school every day. Thank you!

PE in Reception

PE is taught on a Friday.  Please can you ensure that your child has a labelled PE kit in a labelled bag.   To encourage independence it would be really helpful if children could practice taking jumpers on and off and fastening buttons. Thank you.

We are very proud of our new mud kitchen, if you wish for your child to participate in muddy activities please could you send in to school a pair of named wellies. Thank you.

Reception children are able to take part in the after school clubs. These include dodge ball and football. For more information, please speak to the office.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the Reception team. We look forward to working in partnership with you to give your child the best possible start in their education!
