The Y6 children and teachers fully enjoyed taking part in the obstacle race we set up for Sports Relief. As you can see we all got a little competitive 🙂 Thank you for making the effort to come in your coloured sports day teams. We will use the points from today to contribute to the final scores on sports day.
Last week, the children made a long list of activities they would like to do for their club. 1st on their list was an eating challenge which included eating a lime, eating a donut without licking your lips, eating as many crackers as you can in 2 minutes without having a drink and manoeuvring an after 8 from your forehead
One of our sports relief challenges last week was a netball match between the teachers and some of the year 6 children. Height was definitely an advantage for the teachers who were very pleased (and very relieved) with their 12-3 win. A big congratulations to the children who played for giving 100% effort and not giving up.
This week we had a lot of fun exploring the world of AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality). We think this will be an excellent learning tool: it’s exciting, realistic and excellent at igniting our imaginations.
This week, 6A have been using a variety of sentences to improve our writing. We watched an exciting short clip called Ruin for inspiration and the children have produced some wonderful, imaginative pieces of written work from it.
Over the past few weeks the Adventurous Explorers Club have made their own volcanoes. Although our experiment didn’t go exactly to plan, we enjoyed researching about volcanoes using our new app ‘Expeditions’ which allowed us to view them in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
