Thank you to everybody who came to celebrate Reception’s return to England at our Royal Garden Party. It was a lovely way to end our exciting and inspiring World Trip! Many thanks from everyone in Reception to Charlotte, Dylan’s mum for the wonderful ‘Royal Refreshments’, which she very kindly organised and provided free of charge.
Our trip to Greece took us to the Olympic Games where we all showed off our sporting prowess! We learned about Greek myths and the gods on Mount Olympus! We designed our own Grecian urns and had a go at rebuilding The Acropolis! We tasted olives but they didn’t go down too well!!!! We ended our visit by listening to
We flew by hot air balloon to Germany and had a wonderful time there. We learned about German cities, burgs or castles and stories collected by the Brothers Grimm. The German food was very popular!!! Mrs Gould’s class even learned about where her mum was born!
RSG visited Poland where we learned some Polish words and even tried to count in Polish which was very tricky! We tasted some crunchy Polish snacks called ‘Paluszki’ and at the end of the day we enjoyed joining in with some Polish folk dancing!
We flew by helicopter across the Indian Ocean to Africa and landed in The Gambia! Emma’s mum came and talked to us about when she lived there and showed us lots of photos. We learned some Gambian greetings. We dressed up in traditional clothes, played African instruments, balanced baskets and bowls on our heads and recycled rubbish to make toys.
In RSG we took a quick trip to New Zealand where we learned about the Kiwi bird and tasted some delicious kiwi fruits. We found out about the Maoris and performed the Hakka!
We travelled by submarine over The Great Barrier Reef. Mrs Copeland told us about her adventures in Australia and showed us some boomerangs, a didgeridoo and a bull roarer. We tasted some veggie mite…some of us loved it and some of us hated it! Most of us loved the Australian honey though! We created some Aboriginal journey dot art, some
We had a wonderful time in India. We travelled across the Himalayas on elephant! We did some tie dying, dressed in saris, designed some rangoli patterns, experienced some bhangra dancing and tasted some delicious Indian food! What an incredible time we had!
