Last week saw the final session of Fizzpop Science club. Both groups, Key Stage 1 and 2, hosted their ‘Fizzpop Graduation ceremonies’, where each child was given a certificate and gift (UV invisible ink pens) to celebrate their successful completion of the course. They were also quizzed, in teams, to check what they had learned in the previous four sessions
This week our younger children became detectives and looked at some forensic techniques. Our older children identified when chemical changes take place, using slime, hydrogen and Ph scales.
The Year 3 Arts Award children took part in some acting challenges! They… …tried to catch an escaped chocolate frog… …tried out wands in Olivanders’… …found a dragon… …weren’t very keen on Bertie Botts’ Every Flavour Beans… …and finally got chosen for the Quidditch team!
This week, our younger children explored chemical reactions (using Ph scales) and then made their own pot of slime! Our older children tested conditions in which an alien could survive, by monitoring chemical reactions. More fun was had by all!
Year Three had a great day. We came dressed as our favourite Greek Gods and Goddesses as part of an introduction to our new topic called Gods and Mortals. In the morning we watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. We marched into the hall like proper Greeks. In the afternoon we took part in our own Olympic Games, we
