Today we’ve been learning about how some flowers reproduce sexually. In our work, we dissected lilies, some of them were still buds and some were open. We learnt the male and female parts, which were inside the flower.
The stamen (male) has some filaments and anthers, with the pollen grain attached. The carpel (female) has a stigma, style and ovary, which has ovules in it, which will eventually turn into seeds when fertilised.
