We used a bow saw to cut a ‘tree cookie’. We learnt how to stay safe when using tools. Thank you to Coventry General Charities for their kind donation to our forest school, We have been able to buy lots of equipment and the children are loving it!
In year 1 we have been learning about animals in our Paws Claws and Whiskers topic. We built a den for the bear from the book ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’. It was fun working as a team!
We’ve had so much fun being outside this Autumn! We have drilled holes in conkers, made hedgehogs from teasels and clay, made homes for our woodland creatures, as well as playing lots of team games.
We applied for free trees from the woodlands trust and were very excited when they finally arrived! As part of year 5’s ‘Allotment’ topic, every child in year 5 had the opportunity to plant a tree in our new forest school area. Thank you to all of the parents who also got involved in tree planting. Forest Schools We are now officially a ‘Forest School’. We have three members of staff who have completed the Forest Schools training and WS and NS are leading the Forest Schools initiative and have begun to develop a Forest Schools area. Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem
